Welcome back letter.

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back, it’s great to see everybody back again for the second half of the summer term. I hope you are keeping safe and well and have had a chance to enjoy the wonderful weather we had over the half term. As we start on our last half term of the year, we would like to share a few important dates, events and important messages with you.

Lateral Flow Testing

We continue to offer lateral flow tests for every pupil in our secondary phase. If you would like to start the lateral flow testing, please get in touch with the main office and we will send you a consent form. If you require additional flow tests, please get in touch with the main office or your child can ask their form tutor for additional tests.

In line with Welsh Government guidance, we continue to operate on a contact group basis across the school. This means that every phase is considered as a contact group. If a positive case was detected, we would work closely with public health Wales to identify direct contacts and isolate immediately. If this will impact your child, a member of the senior leadership team will make contact with you over the phone. Please can you make sure that we have your most up-to-date contact details.

Holidays and school attendance

School has been working remotely for a long time and we encourage pupils to attend as much as possible this half term. If you have a holiday booked, please contact the main office for a holiday form.

School uniform

We appreciate that the weather will get warmer over the next few weeks. We continue to ask that all pupils, other than our seniors at the moment, continue to attend school in their school uniform. We do allow shorts and ask that pupils wear darker coloured shorts. School uniform is now available from Ram leisure as well as the school.

Sun Safety

As it does get warmer, please remember to put sun cream on your child before they attend school. They should also come to school with a hat to protect them outside. Please send sun cream in your child’s bag with a name label.

End of term

School will close for the summer break on Friday, 16th of July at 3pm. Pupils will return on Monday 6 September, with remote learning available on Friday, 3 September. On Friday 3, September 2021 the school will be open for new pupils only to support their transition into school.

Staff are busy arranging end of term activities for their classes and phases. We will update you with these arrangements very soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us here at school.

Take Care and Stay Safe

Mrs Margaret E Davies

On behalf of St Christopher’s Team.
